First, what are Ducats?
Ducats are a currency to buy items from the void trader, Baro Ki'teer, who appears every two weeks at a random relay. He sells some really good stuff so you should 100% always have some Ducats on hand. Some weapons also require Ducats to craft.

Earning the Ducats

Method 1 - Relic Runs

When you do relic runs to get pieces to craft a certain frame or weapon you OFTEN get something that you did not want, now you can either sell that piece for platinum, but this a guide for ducats so we will sell the other pieces for ducats. The amount of ducats you get depends on the rarity of the piece itself, this is what it says on the wiki:" The ducats value depends on the item's rarity as it appears on the Void Relics that they originate from. Typically, common (bronze) items are worth 15 Ducats, uncommon (silver) items 45, and the rare (gold) ones sell for 100 Ducats. An exception is made for items that had a higher rarity on Relics that were placed in the Prime Vault, but remain available on newer relics at a lower rarity. To make up for the loss in rarity and thus value, such items are worth 25 and 65 Ducats, respectively." Selling the pieces for ducats can be done at any Void Trader's Kiosks, which are found at all Relays and look like this:


Method 2 - Selling bought Prime junk

This is THE fastest way to get Ducats, since the rarity of pieces correlates to how many Ducats you will receive. Seeing as Gold items give 100 or 65 Ducats wouldn't it be much faster if we sold ONLY gold items at the void trader kiosk? There is a quick way to do this, but it does require using platinum to buy cheap prime junk on warframe.market and then selling it at void trader kiosks. Once you get the platinum head on over to warframe.market and buy as many things that go for 100 or 65 ducats as possible then sell those.



Checking what to sell for Ducats or Plat

If you are unsure whether the pieces you farmed from relics should be sold for ducats or plat OR to check what are the cheapest items to buy for plat and then sell for Ducats I hear ya, fortunately so have many other Warframe players like yourself and you can check here : https://tenno.zone/pricing   or https://warframe.market/tools/ducats    or the best one, a mobile app called Ducats or Plats  to see the ducat to plat ratio. This is very useful so always make sure to check here before buying or selling items.

I have played warframe for nearly a year now and have 2 methods that farm platinum nicely. Here I will tell you as quick as possible what those 2 methods are and how to do them.

First, what is platinum?
Platinum is the premium currency within Warframe that can be used to purchase boosters, warframes, cosmetics and whole host of other goodies.

Earning the platinum

Method 1 - Relic Runs

The most efficient and simplest, in my opinion, way to earn platinum is by doing relic runs and selling the prime pieces you get out of them to other players. Usually the best time to do this is when a new prime warframe is released as each piece for a new frame can be a minimum of 80 plat most of the time or when they rotate relics( vault a current set and unvault a different set) you can crack open relics that have been vaulted as the price for the items in the vaulted relics go up since there is no way to earn them in game at the time. 

Method 2 - Vault Runs

Vault running is probably the easiest, but longest way to make plat. When I mean longest, I mean that it will take some time before a good mod drops that is actually worth quite a bit thanks to RNG. Basically vault runs are held most typically in the capture mission of the Orokin Derelict, and if you are new, you most definitely would need a squad for it. In the Orokin Derelict mission you can find a door that looks like this:

There are 4 keys that only one is able to open the door every mission. These 4 keys being the Bleeding key (decreases health), Extinguished key (decreases damage output), Decaying key (decreases shield) and the Hobbled key (decreases speed). When doing vault runs with a squad, each squadmate has to be holding one of the 4 keys in their gear slot before entering the mission. 

Inside the vault are corrupted rare mods and some are really valuable, some being:  Blind rage, Fleeting expertise, Narrow Minded, Overextended, and Transient Fortitude so these 5 are the mods you must keep an eye open for platinum (Each being worth around 20-30p). The other mods you get you can keep or sell for credits.

Where to sell the items I have gotten from the relics?

Easy! On http://warframe.market  or in the trade chat in game( which I DO NOT recommend as new players get low balled often!).



This site, http://warframe.market ,is the best place to sell and buy in game warframe items, people in trade chat usually ask for prices double than what you can find on warframe market for example, someone once was selling a Rhino prime set for 400 platinum when warframe sets usually go between 130 - 200 platinum on this site. All you have to do is sign up either through steam or just on the site.

100% there are players. At the moment there are over 80k players in game right now on steam. That is quite a lot and that is just on Steam, there are WAY more people playing Warframe through different platforms on pc. So, yes, there are many people who play this game
