Ogólnie rzecz biorąc, graficznie gra stoi na bardzo wysokim poziomie. Nie tylko pojazdy przedstawione są z ogromną starannością. Krajobrazy i mapy są rewelacyjnie zaprojektowane i dosłownie zapierają dech w piersiach. Fantastyczna oprawa wizualna w połączeniu z niezwykłym realizmem sprawia, że War Thunder może być gratką nawet dla najbardziej wymagającego konesera. System obrażeń opiera się na trafieniach krytycznych i wrażliwych miejscach pancerza. A sposobów na zniszczenie samolotu lub czołgu wroga jest naprawdę sporo.
Dodatkowo gra oferuje połączenie walki powietrznej z lądową, czym bije na głowę swoich konkurentów, prezentując widowiskowe bitwy na wszystkich trzech poziomach trudności.
Sensowny model F2P, wyposażony w dobrowolne mikropłatności, jest na tyle zbalansowany, że grubość portfela nie decyduje o naszych szansach. Wszystkie przedmioty premium możemy wygrać w licznych występujących w grze eventach, a możliwość kupna ich jest tylko sposobem na zyskanie ich szybciej.
