interesting, so you can post 10 normal posts every 24 hrs
thank you for explaining, really helped and probably helped a lot of people.
@idkimhereforthemoney Like what Kabash said earlier, please keep your comments to yourself. (Not matter how much you appreciate this Forum)
P.S I am not being rude... just following the instructions from Kabash. Please don't be offended by it...
gamehag should inform us this personally instead of some users. so that's why i'm losing some exp sometime ago
As for some specific examples of 'possible' spam. Sometimes I'm a bit confused with short messages. All those "hello", "hi", "gg", "howdy", "how are you", "what is this" and the like. Indeed, on the one hand, there is a certain limitation of at least 40 characters, but it does not always work. Politeness like greetings is good, but it creates a bit of a flood in the comments, especially when there are 20-50 pages and about half (or even half) of them are occupied by such comments. Of course, I don't take into account short messages like replies to "Rate this game from 0 to 10" or "How many gems do you have" threads.
A separate question is why people post their instant "I don't know" in threads when someone creates a thread with a valuable question and looks for solution. They don't even write something referring to "I also want to know, I have the same problem", or the usual "bumping this question", they just ... like putting a "I-was-here" marker. I saw a lot of such messages in Russian localization especially. And before considering such action appropriate, I always tried to look through the recent user's posts.
But I'm definitely not the one to judge, so forgive my confusion. All what I write here might make me look like a selfish person, as if I am the one who knows how to behave oneself on forums. But my wonderings not aimed on that, absolutely! I...I just want to understand, that's all. As well as I don't want to repeat other's mistakes or take too much on myself, except for just some help.
how does someone actually get banned anyways? like just don't spam? what is it that people are sending that they need to spam send it?
people reported me even though i did not spam
people reported me even though i did not spam
same
Its better to use both app and web browser to report comments.
finally this is happening
Are you penalized for posting a valid comment in a thread that ends up getting deleted?
i think there are way too many spammers too this should definitely be for the good i hope
@Trahald> Are you penalized for posting a valid comment in a thread that ends up getting deleted?
No, but if users reported your comment before the thread was deleted, and it can be considered to be spam, then yes you can still be penalised.
@Animationpr0> Like what Kabash said earlier, please keep your comments to yourself.
Yup, don't leave short comments of "Thanks for the info!" since it honestly isn't necessary. Any user who does so within this thread will
have their comment deleted and
temporary ban issued since they've already been warned about it.
The purpose of this thread is to clarify your doubts, if you don't have any then you should move on. Keep the thread clean for other users who wish to read it.
Good morning to you and your family and friends and your kids and I hope you are doing
@Kabash
Thanks for the clarification, that's a relief :)
By valid comment I meant one that wouldn't be considered spam, because I remember someone complaining about losing XP after posting in a thread that got deleted, but I guess their comment did qualify as spam.
Bumping this thread, if it's still allowed.
This is a pretty important topic, it won't be nice if it drown in other discussions.
@trahald >...I remember someone complaining about losing XP after posting in a thread that got deleted... I think I had such an issue. Until now, I can't say for sure without clear evidence, of course. I am, um, not prone to spam and / or meaningless commenting, but at least twice I noticed that my experience was partially lost after deleting a thread where I also left a comment. It doesn't upset me too much - as long as there is no real threat, of course - but it would be really interesting to know the reason. For example, is there really a chance of losing an exp if the thread with your comment (not marked as spam) is deleted, or if you write 2-3 comments \ posts in a short period of time, and so on.
@Aonb Glad you're still here! As for what you wrote, I also had a couple of similar issues, I mean losing experience without my actual spamming attitude. However, if mentioning what @Kabash has written above - I mean the #3 about XP penalty - it is possible that my loss of experience was associated with several accidental mistakes during the spam report or reporting on duplicate threads without linking them to the most relevant thread.
As for the general topic, I found out some users who, if I can say so, spam unobviously. I mean, they come to the same topic and either a) copy other people's comments from page 20+ when the original comment is on page 1+; b) they leave 2-3 comments, then after a while they leave another 2-3 comments. In case b), such comments can be quite contradictory, like "this is a good game, I play all day" and then "I have not played this game". As you can see, I do not mean at all those who just come to leave a few q&a "on the merits". It must be exhausting for moderators to go through this all day...
thats really helpfull to know
