    Article character limit

Hello! I am very new user to this site and I'm not sure if I'm posting this on the correct subforum - I am using Polish version of the site, but there is no suggestion subforum on the Polish forum and the Misty bot have sent me here. I'm not sure if this is also a case on other language versions of the sites, but on the Polish site, when you are posting an article, the page tells you about the minimum character count to be accepted (which is 2,5k letters), but untill you try to send something over 11k letters, it won't tell you that there is any maximum size it can be, which is very frustrating if you put your heart into writting something longer. It just have happened to me. I completed all the tasks in one of the games and I realized that the only article about this game is very old and outdated. I've decided to share my own experience, I've written every single tip, trick, piece of information and whatever I found useful and I did my very best to make it easy to understand and enjoyable to read. I had had a very bad day and I just wanted to feel that I'd done a good job to help other people. The problem is, that AFTER I wrote and formated everything, the site told me that I can't send this article, because it can't be longer that 11k characters. I understand that the site doesn't want the articles too long or too short (IDK if for some SEO reasons or to be more user friendly, or both). The problem is that the subsite where I can post the article for mods to see says very clearly that it has to be at least 2,5k characters long, but it doesn't say ANYTHING about the maximum limit. In the end I edited my text, cut out all the things that I could without destroying the structure of my text or removing some important information (like little jokes that was there to make it more enjoyable or headings to make it easier to find a particular information) and I narrowly passed the limit. I didn't want to split it into two parts not to seem like someone greedy who writes more than a reader would need just to get double soulstones for the work. And also it just felt better as a single text to me. It is just SO MUCH frustrating to me, because it all took me much much longer, that it would have taken just to write an article of the appropriate size from the beginning. If I knew I had a character limit, I'd just write it in World with active counting and I'd knew how much information I can put there. So if anyone who can change subpages reads this, please, just put there the information that it also has a maximum limit. It could save another person new to this site so much frustration, and it is just one sentence to add there. Also if other language versions have a limit of characters in articles that isn't mentioned in the description, I think that should be changed too.

The limit is put in place to ensure users do not start spamming the article page and to limit such occurences.

In any case, you should really consider splitting your article into 2 parts. Many authors have done so in the past and it isn't considered greedy. You've put in the effort to write an article which even when broken down can be considered as 2 smaller articles. So it's only fair that you receive the according SG.

Anyways, sent your suggestion to the Gamehag Team for consideration. Locking thread. 🔒
