Trying Closed Beta MOBA Car, Switchblade - Not as Easy as Suspected

Feels like a sport, but with the feel of MOBA in general.

Since the popularity of Dota, many games Multiplayer Online Battle Arena or commonly we call the popular MOBA. Starting from a simpler League of Legends, Paragon with a 3rd person perspective with god charts that will unfortunately close next April, until Heroes of the Storm with base ability (without items / equip, red) and more concerned about the arena. The game has the same concept, ie hero fight hero in an arena and make the enemy core as its objective. Unlike the mainstream MOBA, Switchblade approaches the genre by replacing it with a car. The result? Pleasant enough after I was lucky to get a chance to try it.

You will control the hero (car) fully armed with 4 of your comrades to fight in an arena with tower and shop. Unlike most MOBAs with complex arena designs, Switchblade has an easy-to-understand arena. But chances are this may change in the future, considering I tried it on the build closed betanya only.

    Like MOBA, But Quite Different

Gameplaynya same as MOBA game in general, where you will be able to destroy tower and core enemy. The thing that makes it different is, every tower can only be destroyed if the core tower you have destroyed. Tower cores will be protected by shields that can only be destroyed by minions or "mobs". To drive mobs to the core tower, you need to reduce the existing tower's health bar to helpless towers. But keep in mind, the tower will still regenerate if the core tower is not destroyed. So, you need to attack the tower of the enemy to reactivate.

You can control two types of cars and replace them during battle

Uniquely, if MOBA hero you can only control one hero only, Switchblade may you to control two cars. Both of these cars you can choose before entering the arena. You can replace it in the middle of a battle by pressing a space as long as your car is not destroyed. If your car has been destroyed aka you die, then you will not have a chance to replace it. Take advantage of this feature if your first car has a very low HP. Each car is equipped with a shield that will continue to decrease if attacked by your enemy, it will do the regeneration automatically if you stay away from the battle.

There are four modes to try: tutorial, co-op vs. AI, invite player, to rank. I personally just tried to fight AI only, but in the end this game was not as easy as I had expected. The AI game is pretty clever, and I barely find an overpower weapon, making you think twice before attacking your enemy. Indeed, you can attack the tower or enemy from a considerable distance from your range of fire, but the amount of damage given will not be the same as when your enemy entered your gunshot range. The farther the distance, the smaller the damage will be calculated.

5 Type Cars with Unique Ability

If most MOBA heroes have an attacker, jungler, flanker, to support, then Switchblade divide it into five types of cars: Scout, Fighter, Tank, Artillery, and Armored. The five types of cars have the ability of each. Scout has a very high speed, but with a low HP, while the Fighter is the main DPS class that balances the attack and defense, it has high speed and damage.

There are five types of cars you can try

Tanks capable of longer shield durations than others, Artillery being the main sniper class with the highest crushed power, but have a long delay, thin shield, and easy to destroy. Lastly there is Armored , the healer class with the thickest HP of any class. He is not able to do great damage, but able to provide support such as installing drones, to do heal on teammates.

Each class has three main abilities besides primary attack, this ability is called "weapon", while ultimately "super weapon". There are many abilities, ranging from fishing unit, heal, EMP, to blowing up. All abilities can be put to good use according to the situation.

These cars can be purchased in items mall with in-game currency or cash.

    Items and Upgrades

You can buy items or upgrade your car when you die or approach the store in the map

Just like MOBA in general, you can buy items as the game progresses. Some of these items can provide many advantages, ranging from adding a critical attack for some time, to give cooldown. There are two types of upgrades, the first in the game, and the second at the main menu.

Tech Cards may allow you to upgrade your car "permanently"

Upgrades in the game will have the same model as weapon upgrades, but different when playing the menu. You can visit the Tech Cards booth to install a chip that you can buy or get when the match ends. This chip has three levels, from the lowest to the top, ranging from bronze, silver, and gold. While there are three columns you can patch the chip, ranging from attack, defense, and utility.

Customize Your Pilot / Car View

Customize the look of your character at will

You will play a role as a "athlete" Switchblade sport game that can be customized at will. Starting from the body type (male / female), color accessoriesuit, face, hair, eyes, to make-up. Nothing is so special from its customization, but at least it can give a different look than other players.

Until this writing is written, no information whatsoever when the game will be released. But according to information circulating, games that will lift the free-to-play business model is soon released on PC and PlayStation 4 this year.
