Is Fortnite still popular?

Is here any "veteran" of the game? I usually want to try only games that continue getting a huge amount of players because that means alot of updates and new content in a short time. I remember alot of friends playing it in the past year, but I have no idea how it is now. Is it still a popular game?

The player base is much different compared to before in chapter 1 where all of the content mostly came from.
