It really depends on your gameplay M4A1-S is cheaper and has less recoil and has a supressor but has leess ammo in total and in a clip. The M4A4 as said has similar spray patterns to the ak but if you don't know how to spray you can always just tap. The M4A4 also does more damage. It's really a personal decision do you want accuracy and clean kills or do you want damage. Pro players use both if you really want to you can do more in depth research but these are the basics.
a1s feels a bit clunky for me personally. i like the a4 handling better
m4a1-s because the recoil is not so bad but m4a4 is better than recoil is very bad (sorry wrong grammar because i'm not an english speaking)
I think that m4a1-s is better
m4a4 personally for me because it has more bullets
I PREFER P4A1-S BRCAUSE IS MORE STALEL AND PRECISE
Ok so the new update makes the M4A1-S cheaper by 200 and it has less recoil. But I think you should go for the M4A4. It has a similar recoil pattern to the AK and has 120 bullets total with 30 in one clip while the M4A1-S has a total of 100 bullets with 25 in one clip. Even though the price decreased, for economic purposes it would seem to be better but you can always buy the Famas with utility instead of buying an M4A1-S. The M4A4 also has more damage per bullet.

The M4A4 has a higher firerate but it does less damage at long range. The M4A1-S does more damage long range, is more accurate, has a tighter spray, and is silenced. After teh most recent update the M4A1-S is now only 2900$ while the M4A4 is still 3100$. I use the M4A1-S because of this.
The M4A1-S may sound inferior in certain areas. It has a fire rate that of the AK-47, but with lower damage and armor penetration, it has hardly any ammo in its magazine and also in reserve, but in-game, when playing to the gun's strength, it can be a very strong rifle, even among compelling rifle choices. Its in-built suppressor allows for silent, mid-long range takedown kills, while sporting more competitive damage at range compared to its CT counterpart. It can be very useful against stationary snipers when playing from entrenched or covered positions. While a small mag size might hold the M4A1-S from being great against multiple targets, it can easily be countered by good aim and trigger discipline. Practice makes perfect, and the M4A1-S rewards players with good trigger discipline, accuracy, and the element of surprise. The M4A4 is an all-around great weapon. It has a higher fire rate and higher accuracy compared to the AK-47, but sacrifices raw damage and a one-tap headshot against armored opponents. Compared to the M4A1-S, it favors a more "hard-line" approach, great for challenging enemies around corners and mid-range gunfights. It has double the bullets that the M4A1-S comes equipped with, and for that reason, it doesn't punish you for missing too many shots. The rifle is also great for mid-long range combat. While not as accurate as the A1-S or scoped rifles, the A4 justifies itself with impressive first-shot and bursting accuracy, while at the same time, being very competitive at close-quarters combat.
m4a4-s is good since it have less recoil
M4A4 Is good for close range or when it comes to rushing
M4A1-S is good for far range which is good too
