Virtus.pro claim the first CIS ticket to the Leipzig Major

DOTA Summit Minor which marked the beginning of the new competitive season last month should have been their debut in the 2019-2020 Dota Pro Circuit. However, Virtus.pro decided back then to forfeit their spot in the tournament and focus on training and building the chemistry between all their new members instead of dealing with visas.
While all the teams that wanted to take full advantage of the big competitors being missing in action at the beginning of the season were fighting at MDL Chengdu and DOTA Summit Minor, VP announced their two trials, Egor “epileptick1d” Grigorenko and Vitalie “Save-” Melnic to have become full members of the teams.
Luckily for VP, playing in the first round of DPC qualifiers brought them just enough points to be considered for an invite in the closed regional qualifiers and it seems that their decision of dropping from the first Minor somewhat paid off already as they powered through the second round of Major and Minors qualifiers.
Their group stage run was far from pristine. They actually had to go through a best-of-one with HellRaisers for second place in their group, but once they passed that minor setback, they ripped through Gambit Esports in the qualifiers playoffs semifinals and took down Team Spirit 2-1 to ensure their first Major appearance in Leipzig, at the 13th season of DreamLeague.
Virtus.pro will be joined at the Major by one more team coming from the regional qualifiers. Na’Vi, Gambit Esports and Team Spirit are still fighting for the last ticket and will resume the battle tomorrow, December 4 at 14:00 EET. The two teams that will lose the battle tomorrow will have another shot at bouncing back via WePlay! Bukovel Minor.
