I'm making a Steam Daily Chest Droprate Sheet

I have seen a lot of talks about how the Steam Daily Chest only contains 1 and 5 gems it seems, and got curious enough that I decided to create a tracking sheet myself to see if the rate is actually as horrible as I and everyone else have thought. But to speed up the process if anyone is interested you can join me. Just create a column next to my name and put your name and drop data in. You only need to do this once if you want, but I would really appreciate it if you can write in daily. The summary table is auto calculated so just leave it there.

Question: how are you keeping the math on the spreadsheet clear? maybe its just me thinking that someone is going to, accedentlly or not, mess up the chart; do you have a back up or extra save? or are we just relying on others not messing with the data? (also small bump cause this is a very useful thread)

Thanks to the power of Google™, every change in the sheet create a new revision, which I can see and roll back if necessary. I do take a look at it at least once everyday if you're wondering. That said, since its inception only 1 case of vandalism has happened so no sweat there. It's not like the sheet receives many activities after all.

Yeah, thats true, but right now I don't really have any tasks to do in gamehag , so I ain't to eager to come here everyday, at least not for a 1 or 5 SG daily chest xD

Does anyone still get 10 SG out of the chest? I was able to get it once or twice a week but I don't remember ever gettin one for at least 2 months. Did they silently remove it? Now all I get is 1 SG, which was not so common for at least me, even getting 5 SG feels like a huge prize now.

Just got one 2 weeks ago. With a chance of about 6% it's a given that you won't see it often.

This looks right. Either 1 or 5 sg, with a 10 every few months, and no more than that. I have been logging in for a couple of years now

I tried to do a sheet about the guessing game, but since there are only 3 choices, and one has like less than 5%, it is pretty much a 50/50 choice.

Somewhat unusually, I got 10 soul gems from it this morning. Though I admit, I'm rather lazy when it comes to the daily chests, so I don't always check it.

Not to mention sometimes I open it at a bit late time, in which case I usually skip the next day.

We are three quarters of the way everyone! Only 100 more chests to go before we get to the unavoidable conclusion that everything bigger than a 10-gem chest is but a pipe dream. On a small note, compares to the data from the half way point the avg gems per chest actually go DOWN instead of UP; that said, a 0.01 difference is just negligble.

If you check the spreadsheet you will notice that all 3 of our active participant got multiple 10s in the past, the chance is just small.

Nice, with 100 left we are nearing the end. I had a few lucky 10 SG drops during december, within days or weeks iirc. Nowadays I got an unlucky 1 SG streak, calculating from my drops I'm at 1188, a bit below the average, but since it's RNG it should even up to 1200 over a longer period.
Maybe the SG bigger than 10 are locked behind total opened chests, or consecutive days or it's simply a really low percent for a drop chance. I haven't been able to keep a consecutive day streak, so I can only test the total opened chests, which doesn't seem to be the case so far.
