Video Game Addiction will be classified as Psychological Disorder

Compulsive video gaming is a modern-day psychological disorder is becoming more and more popular.

The World Health Organization (WHO) may start classifying, next year, that Video Game Addiction as a Psychological disturbance, after a discussion about the implications on gamer's health.

Most part of teenagers pass a lot of hours per day playing video games and experts explain that players who find themselves addicted can no longer separate their rest time and the remaining daily tasks, letting the game influence their daily routine. Usually, teenagers can make that separation, but in a severe situations they will suffer the consequences like bad grades and complete isolation (no friends and family conflicts).

We can say that video game addiction is very similar to another disorder: gambling addiction. Video Game's designers makes your games just challenging enough to keep you coming back for more but not so hard that the player eventually gives up.
Studys showed that 1-5% of the American and European gamers has videogame Addiction. This percentage increases in 10% in Asian people. Men are most affected, specially teenagers.

One of the most common symptoms is when the addict arrives home and directly starts playing videogames. Another symptoms are sleep disorders and diet-related health issues. The addict, usually, doesn't waste his time preparing health food and choose to eat "fast-food". This behaviour doesn't have benefits for his body. Furthermore, two recent studies concerning the ties between video game addiction and depression showed an alarming correlation between the two.
