From what I see, the only way, other than doing quests, to maintain account activeness is by getting their "Magic Barrier". This prevents you from turning into a frog/toad. I see this option available in the shop (https://gamehag.com/shop/magic-barrier1) and also by opting into their VIP subscription. Whether it's worth it or not depends on you. It's most likely that the game was temporarily out of stock at the time they verified your purchase, so the system automatically kicked in and refunded you.

Have a look at your offer walls/dashboard for available tasks. By completing them, you will earn experience points (XP) that can help you level up. Here's a useful article written by @Sebastian50 that you could read to get a glimpse of how leveling up works in Gamehag: XP Guide on Gamehag.
