WHAT IS PUBG ?
A battle royale genre game, they have in common that they scatter the players almost randomly to a certain area, then start collecting tools for survival (clothes, food, weapons, bandages, whatever) in the landing area, after which they start hunting each other. To avoid the system moving away from each other, under certain conditions, the size of the course always shrinks so that fewer and fewer players get closer and closer to each other, otherwise, they will be eliminated from a given match. The last survivor wins and that's it. There is so much more variation in the game that it is not only individual but also team-based.
GAMEPLAY:
The game can be played in Multiplayer mode. First, jumping out of an airplane, we have to parachute down to the island, where after landing, we have to find weapons, armor, and a backpack, and then we have to fight the other players. There is a circle on the island that brings players even closer to each other. The round is followed by another blue circle in which the player is constantly injured, the smaller the circle the more, between the blue and white circles the player is still innocent (unharmed). The winner is the one who stays last on the island. We can also drive cars, motorcycles, and boats to travel from one place to another.
DEVELOPMENT
Brendan Greene (Game Designer) has always wanted a Battle royale genre video game. His idea was to drop some
players on an island where they would have to kill each other with weapons and other items and the one who would
survive in the end would win. The inspiration may have come from the book Battle Royale in Japan, as well as the
Battle of the Hungry, a much more popular but similar topic. Meanwhile, the head of game development company
Bluehole in South Korea also wanted to bring out something new, so he invited Greene. At the meeting, it quickly became
clear that their ideas were very similar and they decided to launch a whole new game together, which became PlayerUnknown’s
Battlegrounds. The game was made with the Unreal Engine 4 engine. The buildings and houses in the game were made by the
team going on a tour and exploring the landscapes before making the tracks, then modeling the tracks based on
them and adding some details based on them. Work also began in early 2016, and in March 2017, a $ 30 "early
access" (It can now be purchased with a 50% discount until April 29) could already be tried. Despite a lot of bugs in the game, he immediately jumped to the top of the
leaderboards. Players were impressed by the simplicity and realism of PUBG. Since then, 13 million copies of
PUBG have been sold for computer. So far, it has overtaken serious names like GTA or Dota 2 in sales. Not
long after, Steam also took first place, with a total of 3 million players playing with it. The popularity
of the game is due to its novelty as well as the fact that when it was released there was no alternative.
APPEARANCES
Due to the popularity of the game, it has appeared on several platforms: first on Windows, then on Xbox One, and then on mobile phones, the latter version was not created by Bluehole, but by Tencent Games. The game has also been released for the PlayStation 4, although at first Sony rejected the offer because only finished games would be released. His debut on December 7, 2018. In January, a free version called PUBG Lite was released for the PC version, which runs better on weaker machines. It first went on servers in Thailand, and on October 10, 2019, it was already released on European servers.
2020
MORE AND MORE PLAYER ARE TURNING AWAY FROM THE GAME
Seeing the statistics for the last 30 days, unfortunately, it can be said that the last time so few people
played PUBG in the summer of 2017 than they did recently. Last month, an average of 259,000 players pushed the
game, which was still full of errors, which is a huge drop compared to the average number of players of around
450,000 a year ago.
