Getting people to adopt a sequel in a multiplayer environment is already hard. Now release that product in a poorly functioning state with less features to an audience that is ready to hate it. In one move you prove the nay-sayers right and scare away the early adopters. Not to mention the fact that we've had Halo: Infinite, OW2, Diablo 4, half a dozen sports titles, and a bunch of other games I'm not thinking of that have made this same exact mistake.
