S4, you really have outdone yourself this time. It's 2020, 7 years since the iconic 1 MILLION DOLLAR Dream Coil turned S4 and his team into TI3 Champions. Yet, even to this very day, he definitely still remembers his iconic play.
S4 recently announced his return to the pro scene since he left EG during post-TI9 roster shuffle last year. While the roster may be different, it's still a sight for sore eyes for fans to see the veteran back in action.
Alliance in 2020
Like it or not, there's no denying that Alliance is not in its former glory back in TI3. Fortunately, Alliance is still respected as a team that many tournament organizers want to invite, so that's definitely some reassuring news. I reckon that Alliance's current performance is still much better than the former Alliance back in year 2016 – 2018.
Anyways, it's yet one of those online tournaments that we get every week, this time it's the OGA Dota PIT 2020 Online. Alliance faced off against FlyToMoon which consisted of formidable players such as GeneRaL, ALOHADANCE, ALWAYSWANNAFLY, Iceberg and V-Tune.
Incoming Call from S4
It was 40 minutes into game 1, FlyToMoon had a minor lead against Alliance but were able to kill s4's Axe and LIMMP's Queen of Pain. It all seemed good for FlyToMoon as their Phantom Lancer could not be killed.
Yet, as the fight was going south and Alliance only had 3 players alive, s4 buybacks for his redeeming shot at winning the fight. As FlyToMoon players try to kill the elusive NikoBaby's Weaver, little did they know that he was setting them up for a teamwipe.
S4 came in at the right spot to land a 4-man Axe Call. On top of that, he also used Blademail, causing immense damage to all his victims. The entire FlyToMoon team could not withstand the damage dealt to them in just 2 seconds of disable. Just like that, Alliance clutched the game.
A Close Call
This game may have went in favor of Alliance. However, it was Alliance who had the advantage halfway into the game, with 7k gold lead. But they got teamwiped at 27 minutes, causing them to lose their momentum and ultimately would have lost to an unkillable Phantom Lancer.
S4's Axe could not land a proper Axe Call to kill anyone and he just gets kited to death. Yet, s4 believed all he needed was one good call to send FlyToMoon out of the first game. None of FlyToMoon's players could survive the call and even the opponents gave s4 a shoutout for his incredible call after they got teamwiped.
Rough Seas Ahead
Winning against FlyToMoon definitely isn't something that Alliance would brag. Alliance still have to face off against more terrifying teams such as Team Secret, who recently won Pushka League and Gamers Without Borders 2020. However, perhaps the fear that every team has right now is the two-timer, team OG. And it has already happened, Alliance didn't stand a chance against team OG.
