It's Arteezy making plays again. And I even reckon that this play deserves a spot on WoDotA's Top 10 series while playing the We Are Electric song. It's Evil Geniuses versus Quincy Crew again like this is the fifth time that the two teams have been clashing with each other since the lockdown began. And the best part of it is that Quincy Crew is looking better and better ever since.
Biggest Chrono by RTZ
The two teams have squared up till the fifth game, both unwilling to show defeat. Arteezy brings out his Faceless Void which is quite a rare sight. The game was in favour of EG till 30 minutes, but Yawar's Juggernaut made crucial plays to make sure he survives both Arteezy's Chronosphere and Ryoya's Kunkka Ghost Ship combo. By manta-dodging it at the right time, not only did Yawar managed to escape death but he turned it around with his Omnislash, getting rid of Arteezy's Aegis.
Moments later, Faceless Void picked up the Divine Rapier for the GG play. At the Radiant jungle, both teams were patiently waiting and baiting for the other to make a move. Quincy Crew's MSS starts off with a Lasso on Cr1t-'s Mirana. That made everyone else both sides, to react and begin throwing ultimate everywhere. From Mars' Arena of Blood to Phoenix Egg and of course, Arteezy's Chronosphere.
Chrono hitting nobody, Rapier fallen, Getting Omnislashed to death…
In the heat of the intense clash, both teams knew that whichever side wins this, would probably win the series and claim 5,000 USD worth of prize pool. Arteezy tries to once again use Chronosphere at just the edge to catch Juggernaut.
But Yawar managed to avoid it and even manta-dodged the Ghost Ship that followed later. This bought enough time for him to use his Omnislash on only two enemy heroes, but they were both the best targets he could ever hope to use Omnislash on the core players, Arteezy and Ryoya, On top of that failed ultimate, Cr1t-'s Mirana got caught too, causing him to die from Phoenix's roasting Supernova.
Two Sides of a Story
As quoted from Nahaz, “Remember there are two sides to every story”. While Twitch chat and Reddit are taking this opportunity to make it look like a failed Chronosphere by Arteezy, I think the real MVP of this game is Yawar's Juggernaut. After getting caught in Arteezy's Chronosphere once previously, he has learnt to avoid it instantly.
He used Abyssal Blade on Kunkka instead of Faceless Void, allowing him to escape the spot that got affected by Chronosphere. That instant blink on Kunkka saved him and disrupted Evil Geniuses' overwhelming teamfight capabilities. Killing both EG cores with a single Omnislash is in fact the play of the game.
Quincy Crew wins!
Finally, after 3 tournaments that Quincy Crew faced off against Evil Geniuses, they finally won a complete best-of-5 series against EG. Although it isn't a full tournament, Quincy Crew probably felt pretty good about their win against NA's favourite. Stay tuned.
