This game mainly focuses on the players ability to build smart and effective cars to take out or defend from an opposing team. The sky's the limit with the things that you can build (literally), and I recommend this if you want to try something new.
I had fun on my first play through of the game, and played it quite a bit more afterwards.
I think you'll do fine performance wise if you have a decently up to date pc.
