Snake Blast is a very simple game. The objective is simple: guide your snake, which shoots projectiles, through a series of blocks to proceed to the next stage.
Once you have made it far enough in your current stage, you will complete the level. The number of levels is infinite, so there's no need to every worry about running out of levels to play. Along the way for each stage, you can gain additional links for your snake to increase its size. If you hit a block with the head of your snake without breaking it with the projectiles first, then you lose the length of your snake proportional to the renaming hit points on the block you ran into. If your snake hits 0 before the block does, you lose and are sent back to the beginning of your current stage.
Each stage is approximately 20-30 seconds long, and is not always just about shooting blocks. Sometimes you will have to maneuver your snake around obstacles, which follow a set path and will hinder your progress unless you move your snake. Black holes will also appear, which while they will not suck you in, they will steal your projectiles, meaning you may not have a lot prepared if a chain of blocks appear that require lots of shots to break.
There is only 1 powerup in the game, which is a golden star that can be found randomly. When picked up, you will start shooting rainbow balls and have the ability to break any block in your way, no matter how tough it may be. Best part is, you gain points super-fast while the power up is active! If you pick one up, you’re basically guaranteed to finish the stage because that’s simply how powerful it is.
Shooting a destroying blocks will earn you "points". These points are accumulated throughout all your runs, and can be used to purchase new skins for your snake. The starting skin is a simple linked ball structure, and other skins exist such as a dragon, soccer ball, and many others. Sometimes, after you finish a stage, you will have the option to watch a video to unlock a new skin on the spot. Pretty nice if something catches your eye and you don't have the points to unlock it yet!
After completing each stage, you will be forced to watch an advertisement before moving onto the next stage. However, there is an option to purchase a subscription to remove advertisements on a weekly basis, with a 3 day free trial available before the purchase is made.
In all, the game is simple and fun. The only drawback is the video advertisement that the user is forced to watch after every stage is completed, but this can be removed if a subscription is purchased. If you’re looking to complete this game for the quest, fear not, as it’s a super simple game to play and is a good way to kill some time while you’re at it!
