Are Chests worth buying?

In almost everything I've seen, people say chests are not worth buying - should you buy them or not?

theres like a 0.1% change of getting anything beyond an unwanted steam key or like 3SG from a chest so, dont buy them but if you get a free one it doesn't hurt anything

the chests are worth it if it doesn't have random steam keys or soul gems though

I do not recomand buying chests. You have 99% chances to recive the lowest prize and only 1% of any other things.
