    Review: Reigns: Her Majesty

In the year before last, an interesting simulator of the monarch Reigns collected a lot of enthusiastic reviews - especially from users of mobile platforms. We were allowed to learn from our own experience how difficult it is to maintain a political balance and stay on the throne, not just four, but at least two consecutive terms. Reigns: Her Majesty - the continuation of the "royal" entertainment. And, as it is easy to guess, this time we are offered to make public affairs on behalf of the queen.

Actually, the feminization of the monarch is the main difference of the new Nerial project . Nothing has changed even visually: the same angular graphic minimalism, the same interface, the same regular change of power. The characters are chatting in untranslatable gibberish, and we play in such a medieval Tinder, rejecting or accepting the suggestions of our subjects. Naturally, the monarch-woman in the title role opened new horizons for the writers, and therefore we have a completely fresh story with unique sets of events.

In general, Her Majesty contains a purely quantitative increase in content. Gone Reigns, but you want more? Grab "Her Majesty" without hesitation - the pleasure is guaranteed. For all those who did not get acquainted with the first part, let's talk about the peculiarities of the monarchical form of government.

The game mechanics are simple: the queen realizes the board, pulling cards from the deck. On each of them a character is drawn, with which an event is connected. In most cases, we are faced with two alternatives - to agree to a proposal or to refuse.

The nuance lies in the fact that the success and duration of the rule of our queen is determined by the attitude of four forces to it - the church, the people, the army and the treasury. Each choice improves the location of certain groups and causes anger in others. Thus, our task is, first, to correctly predict the effect of a particular solution to the problem, and secondly, not to allow any parameter to drop to the minimum level.

They gave up on religion and made the cardinal out of him - prepare to be burned at the stake. People starved to death - meet the furious crowd. However, too successful in all matters, the monarch expects a fiasco. The head of the too belligerent queen simple people will free from duties on the guillotine, and Mother Teresa enthusiastic fans will crush in a burst of tenderness and love. The main thing is to keep the balance, maintaining on an average level the relations of all four groups.

Dying is not terrible - potential queens in a virtual state a dime a dozen. The place eaten by the dogs of Christina Virgo will be immediately taken up by some kind of Edvina Romantic, and the board will safely continue.

Despite the structural similarity of the episodes of the life of different autocrats, the game has a main storyline linking the stories together. Once, after the death of a regular ruler, instead of a "restart" we will meet the Mother of All That will give us a mysterious book of spells and inform us that the soul of the queen is one, but constantly migrates from one body to another. We will not go into the details of the plot, but note that there are several endings in his clip.

In general, the charm of the game lies in the narrative itself, in a story about the history of government. Excellent humor, unexpected turns, freedom of choice and a sense of responsibility for it - all this turns the flipping of cards into a fascinating process of government that is saturated with various non-trivial events. Here you can have an affair with a lover, patronize heretics and wage wars with neighbors. And you can not do this. The decisions you make will regularly remind you.

The variety of problems faced by our monarchy has increased in comparison with the first part. But the transparency of the influence of choice on the attitude of civil servants to us is also not enough. Construct a new tower to protect the state? Here everything is logical: defense capacity will gain, and the budget will lose a couple of points. But why, for example, does the Queen's consent to treatment with leeches necessarily worsen the country's budget?

Fortune-telling on the coffee grounds is complicated by the existence of the queen's life goals - tasks, the fulfillment of which opens new story branches and fills our deck with fresh sets of cards.

Some events are connected to quest chains. For example, carrying out a coronation will require you to remember a certain sequence of actions and realize it by selecting the appropriate cards. Some of them are rather difficult - the passage of the maze, for example, can slow down the vigorous gameplay if the queen is not too smart. In addition, often certain events will be blocked, if previously you missed the moment and did not perform the necessary action - the same labyrinth will require the preliminary repair of the magic hours that once fell into the inventory of the ruler.

Such active subjects - perhaps, the only important innovation in the gameplay Reigns: Her Majesty. Things from the inventory must be used at certain times. However, it is not always obvious when to use this or that object. In general, the local one hundred percent victory - unlock all the cards, complete all tasks and get all the "perks" - requires luck and a lot of repeated passes.
