This is a game that I don't see talked about often on Gamehag if at all. This is, after all, a mobile game however it is also playable on steam. I bought this game during the Steam winter sale last year and I gotta say, this game is good.
Forget what I said, this game isn't good it's great. To begin with, the comprehensive tutorial introduces you to many new mechanics that old veterans from btd 5. Including three upgrade paths to choose from, heroes and later on, powerful tier 5 towers. That means there are in total, 15 upgrades for each monkey! Each upgrade path is different and has different abilities.

Firstly, let's talk about the heroes. When you begin you get Quincy, the Robin Hood equivalent of Bloons, level up a bit and Gwendolin, the pyromaniac, level up some more and we get Striker Jones, you can tell by his outfit and name what he does and last but not least, Obyn the um... whatever he is. The other heroes can be bought through monkey money which is gained by beating maps but more on that later. Each hero is also unique, having abilities that buff your monkeys or just do pure damage to the bloons. As the heroes level up through the game, they slowly change their appearance.
The variety of maps also keeps you interested in the game for a while. You can choose from easy, intermediate, advanced and expert maps. Each map from intermediate and up have obstacle which blocks your monkeys' lines of sight that you can remove by paying money. Then there are the multiple game modes that get more and more challenging. For example, Alternate Bloons Round is a mode where the rounds are changed so they become harder and more unpredictable. Impopabble mode makes all towers and upgrades more expensive. Finally, there is Chimps mode which his the hardest of them all. I'll let you find out for yourself and yet, there are still 4 more game modes to play.

Finally, we have the in-game currency. Monkey money firstly seems like a type of currency that you have to pay for but thankfully, it is earned through beating maps. It's used to buy new heroes and to unlock monkey knowledge. You can also use it to race again in the Races that Ninja Kiwi holds. The harder the maps and game modes, the more monkey money you earn per win.
The game also gives you extra things to do. For example, daily challenges which are sadly, very underwhelmingly easy, however, there are weekly advanced challenges that are sometimes very hard and sometimes easy enough. Then there are also races that challenge you to beat the rounds as fast as you can.
And that's just scratching the surface. The game still has more to give you and the only way to find out is to play it. I suggest waiting until one of the frequent sales of Steam and buy it then. Have fun and stay safe!
