Little Big Planet is a puzzle platform video game, created by Media Molecule and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the Playstation 3. In this review, I will talk about one of the most popular games for the Playstation 3, Little Big Planet.
Little Big Planet’s gameplay consists mainly in 2D platforming and solving puzzles. You play as Sackboy, a little puppet made of fabric, with a zipper and button eyes. Little Big Planet takes place in a world full of creations made by Creator Curators. Sackboy travels to different parts of the world, meeting different Creator Curators and, along the way, picks up different materials and objects which he can use to make his own creations. In Little Big Planet, Sackboy travels to different locations like: The Gardens, The Savannah, The Wedding, The Canyons and more. These in-game locations are based off of real life locations, for example, The Gardens is based in Western Europe, specifically England.
Little Big Planet is known mainly for its community of creators and it's level creator. Every player is allowed to create and publish their levels online for anyone to play. Players can switch the background of their world to match the background of any worlds they have traveled to in the main story. Players can also create their own machines, traps and monsters for their worlds, using any materials or objects found in the main story.
Little Big Planet has become one of the most popular games for the Playstation 3, and for good reason. Little Big Planet has one of the more unique art styles I have seen in a video game. The game has a very crafty and artsy style. Everything looks like it's made of fabric, paper or cardboard like it was made in an art class. Another thing worth noting is, Little Big Planet doesn't necessarily have to be a 2D platformer. Many talented creators have made levels that completely change the game’s playstyle.
This game is great. The art style is one of a kind, the levels and worlds are very creative, and the soundtrack is awesome. Even after 10 years, I was still able to enjoy this game. This is a game that I think just about anyone can enjoy. Also, despite the game's childish look, the game can actually be pretty challenging at some points, so there’s enough challenge to go around. This game is perfect for anyone who loves sandbox games, the level creator will let you build all kinds of things from a simple rocket car to giant robots. I also see this game fit for anyone who is into arts and crafts, the games visuals as I said before, look like they came straight out of an art class. I’m giving this game a 10/10. If you still have a Playstation 3 and you haven’t tried out this game, what are you waiting for? You won’t be disappointed!
