Do skins make you feel happy?

When I first started playing CS:GO, I saw so many people caring about gun skins, knife skins, gloves and cases. And I saw the amount of money they spent, which was so much! But after a friend gave me a few skins, I started playing with the weapons with skins, and became good with the weapons. Whenever I see a cool skin in a match, I always pick it up. But does it really help? Sometimes I think it distracts me. But now, do you guys think skins make you feel happy? Or in some may, improve your gameplay?

I just bought my first CS:GO knife and its nothing crazy and im not even that good at the game but just having it makes me really happy and it makes me want to always get better at the game.

Having good skins makes me feel better but I don't have too many as they are super expensive
