Guide For The Forest

The forest is an survival horror game that it is developed and published by  Endnight Games and it's available for PC and PS4.It have really great graphics where in the game you try to survive on an island because the plane where you and your son were crushed.On the island there are cannibals and mutants that you need to fight them to survive.Other than fighting them if you want to survive you need to find food,supplies and build shelter,campfire and more.The main reason why you are stuck in the island is because you are trying to find you missing son Timmy.

The Basics
When you start the game you must know that the forest gives you a lot of supplies so you can begin.Unless if you play on extremly hard mode.So here are some things that you might consider!

Finding Supplies
Supplies are the most important thing in the game so you need to have as many of them as you can.Maybe after time they will get usless when you start crafting other items, but they are useful at the begining.
 
Food
There are many areas all over the island where you can find snacks(candy bar) and sodas at the begining you will want to gather as much as it is possible of them.There are also booze they will fill up the thirsty bar but it will lower the stamina bar,but you can combine them with cloth and make molotov cocktail.There is another way to get food by hunting animals such as (deers,squirrels,lizards,rabits,racoons,birds,fish and more) even you can can eat mutant parts like arms,legs,head but first you need to build campfire and put them there then you can eat but there is a chance of getting sick and then you will need to find aloe vera to cure your self or you just will need to get rest (sleep).You can also build cage so you don't need to hunt them they will get to you,but do that if you don't have time for hunting.



Crafting Materials
The basic materials you will need to have for crafting are sticks,rocks,logs,cloth,feathers and other items that you think are usless at the begining but after you start crafting and building you realize that you need more than you think.

Building a Shelter
Building a shelter is one of the important thing you must do in the game to survive because in the shelter you can save the game so when you die you have to restart from the last save point, and while it is night you can sleep in it.You can also build custom shelter (house) you can bouild like from a shack to a large mansion.



Armor
Armor is also incredibly useful as you take on the various enemies in the game. You'll also have a number of options, depending on the results you're seeking to achieve. Among these are bone armor, stealth armor and weird armor.
As the name describes, stealth armor will help to make you more stealthy. It can be gathered using lizard skins and leaves. You can use basic lizard skin armor, or bone armor to gain greater defense. If you're looking for the best possible defense, you can gain weird armor from the mutants you defeat.

Weapons
The initial weapon you'll receive is the axe, which works as both a tool and a weapon. However, it's not far into the game that you can start making some other basic weapons, such as the weak spear, bows and arrows and a slingshot.Using these tools, you'll be able to kill animals and enemies more easily, which is going to give you an easier time defending yourself, gathering skins and food. Throughout the game, you'll be able to make or obtain improved weapons that help you get farther into the story. Searching for these weapons will help you as you look for your lost son, Timmy.





 

9/10. - Phenomenal, a must-play survival & an incredible story!

If you enjoy survival games & have an itch for horror too then this game is absolutely superb. Crafting/traps/base building/exploration/huge map/hunting/thirst & hunger & weather conditions you'll need to prepare for and much more! You will experience quite a variety of jump scares and panic moments in the caves & sometimes even near wherever you choose to reside in...Enemies are always watching. Remember that.

The story is incredible and may be a little confusing and tedious to find the exact locations of where you need to go every now and then but once you knuckle down and really explore the lore & adventure on with the story, you will soon realise why it's great. Expect to fight a LOT of enemies. A LOT of exploration & a TON of moments where you hope your light sources will remain bright enough for you to continues.

I will be honest and say that the melee fighting mechanics were slightly irritating at times and actually annoyed me every now and then. Especially when some enemies swung their arms at me 10 times in a row without stopping. However you do get used to it and it isn't so bad at all. (Stick to range attacks)

Even more of a recommendation if you're a content creator as this game is great enjoyment for those viewers watching you. Especially the caves....

Definitely highly recommend this game and it is worth the full price but do keep in mind it can be a little tedious without looking stuff up every now and then!
