it really depends on what you want to play, if you want something fast but with that competitive edge to it, wingman is the choice, maybe you don't have time for a whole comp match or you are with only one of your friends and you don't wanna paly with 3 strangers in mm, because you can get some really bad teammates and you can de-rank. But if you have the time and you have a team you're good with, its a no-brainer to choose comp.
I mean valorant and cs are pretty different, it would be like comparing Pubg and fortnite, same content, different executions of the content.
You can get skins from playing csgo competitive, but they're rarely any over blue's, mostly greys tho
