Hideo Kojima is a Japanese computer game designer who for many years enjoyed the position of vice president of the giant Konami studio. Kojima has co-created dozens of unique games that have won the hearts of players around the world - including Metal Gear, Snatcher, or Nintendo console games. In 2016, Kojima opened his own studio, Kojima Productions. Then the first announcements of Death Stranding appeared, which literally turned the gaming world upside down. The premiere of Death Stranding for the PlayStation 4 console took place in November 2019, on PCs the game appeared in July 2020.
The title was set in the near future - the vision of the world is not very positive. A series of disasters of unknown origin brought the eponymous "Death Stranding" to our planet. This term refers to paranormal phenomena which contributed to the deaths of thousands of beings. One example is Timefall, which is deadly rain - it accelerates the aging process of people, animals and even plants, draining life from them. Another one are mysterious, deadly creatures called Beached Things. In Death Stranding, we play the role of Sam Porter, who starts working at the Bridges corporation, which transports various goods between cities. However, this is nothing like the easy job of the courier. Bridges employees such as Porter must travel afoot the areas infested with dangerous creatures.
The game enchants with beautiful graphic design, atmospheric music and fantastic story. The characters, in turn, are dubbed and portrayed by well-known actors, such as known from The Walking Dead and The Boondock Saints, Norman Reedus, or Mads Mikkelsen who plays the main role in the TV series Hannibal.
