Unturned Review

So one of my friends urged me to play this game called Unturned so I gave it a try. Its free to play game and when I played this game it was really interesting and I enjoyed it alot. Basically Unturned is a co op survival game with great physics. The game has pixelated Graphics and I will cover the Background and gameplay of this game.

Background

The creator, Nelson of this game was inspired by Roblox and used to work there. He had already made two games on roblox and he thought to give it a try all by himself. He also used to like survival games and he thought to work on his own game. There was a point where he got frustrated and things were not going as he planned and he was so depressed that he thought to call of his project. But due to his fans on his previous game motivated him, he gave it another try and soon the game was released.

Gameplay

So basically the map is invaded by zombies and all we have to do is to to survive in these conditions. Initially we do not have anything and we have to search for weapons, food, clothes, basic necessities to live. After looting we can craft metal, furniture and we can use that to build ourselves a secure house from other players where they cant access because if they get access to your house all your hardwork is basically gone.



After building your house all you need to do is survive. I love this game more than other survival games because your survival depends on weather which gives the game a twist. For example if your house is in snow then you need to wear warm clothes or you can die from the cold weather. moreover your energy runs out really quick if you run in hot weather.

You cant survive on small amount of food so you need to go to other villages and find food from there but the problem are the zombies as they try to hunt you down. The game has most realistic feature in damage I have ever seen because if a zombie gives you damage you start to bleed and you the bleeding does not stop until you put on some bandages which is a very unique thing. Moreover if you want to kill zombies you need some weapons because the zombies carry very unique stuff which helps you out in your survival. Currently the weapons include melee weapons, chainsaw and guns like sniper, shotgun and rifles.



The UI you are seeing in the bottom left is the mood list. the first one is your health.
The second one is your hunger. You need to fill up your hunger bar frequently depending on what you are doing. For example if you are running all day then your hunger bar will go down very fast. Moreover hunger does not fill up your health so only med kits fill up your Health.
The third one is thirst and you need to quench your thirst for your energy to run longer.
The fourth one is hazard which only falls if you are infected by zombies or you eat something poisonous.
The fifth one is your energy which gets refilled if you have hunger and thirst and is used to sprint for some time and soon it runs out and is refilled after some time.
The last one is depends on environment and lowers if you get wet by the rain.

This game also includes crafting. You can craft several things which can help you in defending and you can craft clothes for yourself. Moreover if any part of your clothing gets damaged by fall damage or the zombies you can repair it.

To travel around you need vehicles and this game includes various vehicles. The vehicles are tank, Fighter jet, jeep, helicopter etc. These vehicles definitely need fuel to move around and help you making your journey easy. Vehicles spawn around the map and the map is way too large hence making this game fun.





From my point of view, I really love all the realistic physics in this game and the gameplay is way too different from other survival games out there which is the reason I love and enjoy playing this Game. But the game could be way too much better if it did not contained the pixelated graphics but since this game is very old and was released in June 2014, we can expect this type of graphics.
