Elaborado por Wargaming.net, World of Tanks demostró ser un juego tan grande, que no sorprende a nadie si decimos que el estudio tomó una gran decisión no durmiéndose en los laureles tras dessarrollar su famoso juego de tanques.
Primero aparecieron los "tanques voladores", que es un juego desarrollado con el mismo motor que WoT, denominado World of Warplanes. World of Warships no es, sin embargo, un clon de su hermano mayor. El juego ha desarrollado su propia identidad y puede sorprender incluso a los más escépticos.
Lo que hace a los "barcos"acercarse a otros juegos del mismo estudio, son los excelentes gráficos y el hecho de que el juego sea totalmente gratuíto. Los desarrolladores se han centrado en el realismo, lo cual es una gran ventaja.
