The PS5 is the most anticipated console of recent times
The PS5 is the long-awaited next-gen gaming console from Microsoft. It will be a unique device with support for 8K resolution, Ray Tracing technology, 3D sound and SSD. Backward compatibility with PS4 will also be a matter of course. If you are interested in the PS5 and would like to know more about it, be sure to continue reading. In the article, in addition to the most important parameters, we will also tell you what game titles you can look forward to, when it should be available and how much you will pay for it.
1. Why PlayStation 5 will be unique
Sony has said that the PS5 (despite its name) will not be the next generation in the PS4 and PS4 Pro consoles, but much more a revolutionary device that can proudly compete with Microsoft's 2020 new gaming console, tentatively called Project Scarlett.
What dazzles everyone? From the PS5 you can expect:
eight-core AMD Ryzen processor,
SSD storage,
perfect graphics performance (13 TFlops expected),
support for 8K resolution (so far more of an assumption),
ray tracing technology,
3D audio support
Backward compatibility with PS4 games
cloud gaming support,
multiplayer option with PS4.
2. Speed and performance go hand in hand with SSDs
There is definitely something to look forward to. The PlayStation 5 will continue to be based on computer hardware. Specifically, it will be an eight-core AMD Ryzen third-generation processor, which will be much faster thanks to the transition from a conventional fixed HDD to an SSD.
SSD will enable significantly faster rendering of game world textures. This should minimize jams and delayed or lengthy image rendering (which is unfortunately a common scandal of most current consoles, including the PS4 Pro).
On the other hand, it is necessary to take the huge potential of SSDs with reserve. The upload speed that SSD will bring will slow down the performance demands that PS5 game titles will put on hardware. Even so, it will be a big step forward, which will have a positive effect on fluency.
And when it comes to previous-generation titles (which will be playable with backward compatibility), the move forward will be more than striking.
3. The graphics will amaze you
The perfect graphics performance will be provided by the Radeon Navi 10 graphics core. the Xbox One X console has 6 TFlops).
There is also speculation that the PS5 will be equipped with HDMI 2.1 and should support 8K graphics. However, this information has not yet been directly confirmed. Sony has not yet released almost any information regarding software and services.
A fundamental difference compared to the previous generation of game consoles, and at the same time what the PlayStation 5 brings closer to gaming computers, will be the support of ray tracing. Thanks to this technology, significantly more complex and realistic light and sound effects can be achieved in a virtual environment. At the same time, this technology has been commonly used on gaming computers for a long time.
In any case, the PS5 will support 3D sound, allowing the player to know exactly whether the sound is coming from the front, side or back, without any special equipment (classic built-in TV speakers should also handle this). However, it is not yet clear whether the support also covers Dolby Atmos and DTS: X.
Uncertainty still exists regarding the CoR PS. We will therefore have to wait for verified information about virtual reality. For now, it is certain that the current generation PlayStation VR headset will be compatible with the PS5.
4. Improved gameplay options
The PS5 will continue to enjoy the classic Blu-Ray drive. However, enthusiasts of the new PlayStation can look forward to backward compatibility with PS4 games or the ability to play multiplayer between PS4 and PS5.
Digital copy trading is also unverified information. The currently common and widely used bazaar sale of physical copies should thus be extended to the sale or donation of digitally purchased games.
A novelty of the new next-gen console is also the much-discussed cloud gaming (Cloud Gaming) using streaming over the Internet. You will not need special hardware to play the selected game, but only a TV and a gamepad will suffice.
5. What game titles you can look forward to
Information about some games that fans will be able to play right away with the release of PS5 has already been released to the public. Exclusive titles include in particular:
GTA 6,
remaster Last of US: Part II,
remaster Ghost of Tsushima
or remaster PUBG (in 4K).
For cross-platform games, you can expect
Battlefield: Bad Company 3
or the new Assassin's Creed.
6. When will it be available
Although the release date has not been publicly confirmed, PS5 is projected to appear on the shelves in April 2020 at the earliest.
7. How much will it cost
The sale price is estimated at about $ 499, we will see if the price in euros will be the same or lower.
