Basically what you said it right, although Gamehag can also reject your article for various reasons so it's not guaranteed they will pay on just anything that gets submitted
Mostly any well written quality article will get posted
In short just make sure you write your own content (no plagiarism) about a good topic (obviously Gamehag or Game related) and use proper formatting while keeping spelling error and bad grammar at minimum.
