The Witcher 2 is the game that is considered the most controversial in the trilogy and, to be honest, it is really very "controversial", that is, yes, it is a decent game, but I have some complaints about it. Let's take a closer look.
1. The plot
Let's start with the plot, and in this regard, the developers have grown very much. Firstly, the plot has become much more complicated, the game affects the politics of the witcher's world and honestly it turned out to be very interesting. Kings die, war is waged, each faction has its own interests, and so on. Secondly, I liked the fact that the dialogue in this game has become much better, and the characters are even more reminiscent of the original source. For example, Buttercup is now a one-on-one book character, constantly getting into trouble and hanging around brothels. In general, the essence of the story is that King Foltest was killed, Geralt was accused of everything, and now he needs to do two things, find out who is behind this and clear his name. As for the tasks, they turned out to be pretty good and varied. In general, there are many good things in this game, but of course there were some drawbacks.

2. Cons
I didn't like the non-linearity of the game's history. Yes, this is a strange claim, but let's explain. In The Witcher 2, the developers decided to make the player's choice have consequences. For example, what the second chapter will be like depends on your choice, that is, when you make this choice, then several storylines disappear from the game, in fact, you miss about 10-15 hours of content and all because of one choice. Therefore, in order to fully understand the plot of the second witcher, you have to go through the game somewhere 2-3 times and this approach of the developers did not really justify itself, yes, I understand, they wanted to create real nonlinearity in the game, but in fact because of this the second the witcher only suffered. Because the player doesn't get the whole story. After all, people usually play the game once. Also in the game, I did not like the third chapter, it feels like the developers were in a hurry while creating it, and the additional tasks generally pissed me off.

3. Gameplay
Judging by the concept videos, The Witcher 2 was not so different from the first part, but then the developers changed the combat system, visual design and added a couple of new features, and let's talk about all this. The combat system has become more active, now a lot depends on the player's skills, I liked the fact that the game pushes you to test signs, traps bombs and so on, there are also cool finishing off enemies. In general, all this is great, but I think the combat system is average because it has a couple of downsides. The first of these is that when you are fighting, you must always keep your opponents at a distance. You can't just walk into the crowd of guards and kill everyone, it's unrealistic. Therefore, usually, the fight in the game looks like this: you roll around your opponents and sometimes interrupt them in order to strike. The second minus is that when you are fighting with enemies, the game chooses for you one goal on which the player will be concentrated. And if you accidentally hit another enemy without a target, then the damage will simply not be counted.

4. Graphics and open world
As for the graphics, I don't mind that more colors have appeared in the game, and, in principle, The Witcher 2 is a very beautiful game that shows just an amazing picture in moments. The only thing that annoyed me was that in some places the developers went too far with the blurring of the picture. The world of the game is fun to explore. Because everywhere you can find some cool content, unique stories and some funny characters.

5. Outcome
In some places The Witcher 2 is a brilliant game, it has an interesting plot, characters and tasks, it gives unique emotions and so on, but in some places it is also very annoying. The developers experimented a lot and in the end some things turned out not very good. In general, my rating for the game is 8/10. I advise you to complete this game, especially if you are a fan of The Witcher.
