Games embedded in post-apocalyptic realities have their countless number of fans. Many people love the atmosphere known for example from the Fallout game series. However, this series has with Wasteland much more in common than just an atmosphere and genre. The first installment of the Wasteland game was released in 1988 and became a direct inspiration for the creation of the first, classic parts of Fallout. Also, one and the same American studio crated both games - Interplay Entertainment. Wasteland was a cult game, it was also unofficially called "Mother of post-apocalyptic RPG". However, we had to wait almost three decades for the continuation to appear. The second game in the series was Wasteland 2 released in 2014, which plot was set 15 years later in the realities of the first game, and Wasteland 3. Both of these games were created by inXile Entertainment.
The atmosphere, interesting plot and many story threads of Wasteland 3 reminiscent of previous parts. Once again, we are dealing with North America destroyed by the apocalypse and the Wasteland Guardians of the Old Order. This version of the game, however, transports us from a sunny desert to ice and snow-covered Colorado. In this part, you play the role of a member of one of the Guardian units called Team November. At the very beginning, however, Team members are murdered. It soon turns out that the people of Colorado have no idea about the existence of the Guardians. All this translates to the need of regaining our reputation, role in the community and the Team November unit from the scratch. In addition to the new plot and maps, Wasteland 3 also offers players many mechanical improvements and much nicer graphic design.
Wasteland is a series of classic RPGs set in post-apocalyptic realities. The gameplay system and story became a direct inspiration to create the first parts of the Fallout game (they were designed by the same studio).
Wasteland turned out to be such an interesting project that the second part of the game was finally released. However, 26 years passed between the premieres, and inXile Entertainment stood behind the creation and production of the title. Less than six years after the release of the second part of Wasteland, the studio decided to release the third part of the game - Wasteland 3. All the titles are characterized by an isometric view, an interesting plot and turn-based combat system.
Wasteland 3 is maintained in a postapo climate just like the previous parts of the series. In this installment, however, we are moving from the desert wasteland to the ice-covered part of America. Once again, we are dealing with Wasteland Guardians of The Old Order, but this time we become a member of Team November. The people of Colorado have no idea about the existence of the Guardians, but all the members of the Team November have been murdered lately. This story plot is intended to emphasize the importance of the main character's loneliness and the need to build both: a squad and Team November's reputation from scratch.
