The game is marketed towards girls 6-17, and you can see that on the game clearly. You can play for free to level 5. As most kids games do it has a membership feature as previously mentioned.
With some of the membership (Star Rider) options you get 100 of the special game currency (star coins) every week. Meaning if your patient enough you don't actually have to buy more then just Star Rider as long as your willing to wait.
On the subject of waiting, a feature i find annoying is waiting to continue story quests (main and side). It's not the feature itself, but more the fact that is't like 2-3 quests and then waiting till the next day. And races, daily quest and championships get repetetive after a while.
I do enjoy the story, because it's for younger audience it's kind of lighthearted, and there are funny scenes and dialogue that appeal to my childish side. The newer horse models and coats are really pretty and it's fairly easy to play.
I have, so far, really enjoyed the game. And would recommend it if you're willing to part with the money for Star Rider.
The team and staff are also actively working on the game with new updates every Wednesday.
Sorry for long comment, i just couldn't stop myself.
