I concur that threads of identical topics shouldn't both exist, however I fail to see how that would definitely always be spam. Some people just don't bother searching the forums enough or anywhere else to get information.

Most follow the same "how > like this > oh okay thanks" procedure. It's unnecessary to have several of these threads around, yes, but it's not necessarily spam. Some people do genuinely request to know certain things and just ask them instead of doing their own research.
