anything beyond hand cannon is too much and even then i am not sure of adding a small hand held cannon to minecraft as a substitute for a gun
perhaps add more enchantments to bows and crossbows to subsitute different types of weapons , like crossbows with sharpshooter whould fire slower but increase accuracy and damage
